Volunteers needed for Paint the Downtown Yellow campaign

March 29, 2017

The third annual Paint the Downtown Yellow campaign in support of the Canadian Cancer Society’s daffodil month campaign, will be taking place Wednesday April 19th or Thursday 20th (weather dependent) and we are seeking volunteers to assist with the painting of yellow logos and daffodils in downtown Sudbury.

Every April, volunteers hit the downtown streets with pails of yellow paint, stencils and paint brushes in hand. Their mission, to paint over 56 logos and daffodils across the streets of downtown. After a long day of hard work downtown yellow will be abundant, down every street. You will find yellow ribbons, storefronts along with the painted logos and daffodils.

Paint the Downtown Yellow is a collaboration between the Canadian Cancer Society and Fuel Multimedia, where downtown businesses support the Canadian Cancer Society by purchasing a stencil of their logo for $100 (+ $25 stencil fee to Fuel Multimedia) to be painted in yellow at their storefront. It’s a very visual show of support for the Canadian Cancer Society and daffodil month.

Funds raised during Daffodil Month support Canada’s best cancer research into all types of cancer so that more lives are saved. From critical patient support programs to innovative research, this work would not be possible without you.
