Great news for festival attendees commuting from out of town to NLFB 2016
Plans are well underway to stage the 45th anniversary edition of Canada’s oldest continuously running outdoor festival. The NLFB team is hoping to outdo itself, with headliners Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy, Bahamas, and the Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra, the 2016 festival, held from July 8th to 10th, is bound to rival the blowout 44th edition held in 2015.
The festival continues to grow and evolve, reaching a near-record attendance of over 10,200, and a record number of vendors at the 2015 festival. It included unforgettable performances by over 50 acts and Northern Lights Festival Boréal continues to innovate each year with an eclectic program of indie, roots, world music, as well as visual arts, workshops, family entertainment and more, making it a unique celebration of community and culture, and a lightning rod for Northeastern Ontario’s artistic community.
As such, NLFB is proud to announce promising news for the 11,000 attendees projected to attend the festival this year, and more specifically, those travelling from out of town. For 2016, NLFB has introduced accommodations packages, making attending the festival more convenient than ever.
Three packages are being offered at various rates in order to accommodate travellers of all types. There are Hotel packages, which include three nights in a double room at the Clarion Hotel for $496 (inc. HST), Hostel packages, for three nights in a double room at the Residence at Cambrian College for $396 (inc. HST), as well as Camping Packages which include 1 tent or trailer spot for 3 nights at the Mine Mill Campground, as well as a daily shuttle service for only $262 (inc. HST). All packages include 2 weekend passes to NLFB 2016.
“People always call us asking if the festival has camping, and now thanks to our partnership with Mine Mill Local 598 – Unifor we can say that it does.” says Max Merrifield, Executive Director of NLFB. “If Sudburians want the camping experience, they are invited to camp as well!”
All packages include not only discounted accommodation, but also a discounted rate on festival passes – making them indisputable deals. Packages as well as additional information are available at www.nlfb.ca
