Pick Up a Piece of the Nickel City

Sudbury is a city with a long and storied history. This collection tells a different story, an imaginative story, one that gathers the diverse talents of the Sudbury Writers’ Guild and blends them together into a satisfying whole.

 Sudbury, Ontario – November 1, 2016 – SUDBURY, INK. is an anthology showcasing the Sudbury Writers’ Guild at its best. Featuring a variety of writing styles, topics, and genres—both prose and poetry, fiction and non-fiction—SUDBURY, INK. offers something for everyone: humour, romance, history, science fiction, and more.

Several noted local authors contributed to SUDBURY, INK. including former City of Greater Sudbury Poet Laureate Thomas Leduc, Kobo Emerging Writer Prize shortlisted novelist Renny de Groot, noted short fiction author Margo Little, local radio personality and Northern Lit Award shortlisted author Scott Overton, haiku and tanka poet Irene Golas, award winning poet and author Vera Constantineau, as well as debut authors like Liisa Kovala—whose book, The Day Soon Dawns, is soon to be published by Latitude 46 Publishing—and Rosanna Micelotta Battigelli—whose historical novel, La Brigantessa, is being published by Inanna Publications in 2018.

SUDBURY, INK. is the first collection from the Sudbury Writers’ Guild and will be on sale during the WORDSTOCK SUDBURY literary festival (November 3 to 5, 2016) for a special ‘event price’ of $15.00. The book will be available for purchase at BAY’S USED BOOKS as well as CHAPTERS and COLES—Sudbury locations only—for $20.00. An official launch will be held at the Greater Sudbury Public Library’s main branch on Saturday, November 12 from 1-3pm. (See website www.sudburywritersguild.com for details.)

 About the Sudbury Writers’ Guild – Founded in 1992, the Sudbury Writers’ Guild is the city’s foremost writing group. It is dedicated to connecting, developing and promoting northeastern Ontario writers. SWG welcomes new members and is open to writers of all ages, genres and stages of their development.
