Great Art for Great Lakes Announces Commissioned Artists Across Eight Great Lakes Communities

In early 2017, Waterlution, in partnership with Greatness—The Great Lakes Project—posted a call for artistic submissions in eight Great Art for Great Lakes (GAGL) communities, including: Kingston, Hamilton, Mississauga, Sudbury-Manitoulin, Thunder Bay, Aamjiwnaang First Nation, Owen sound & Toronto. ONTARIO CONFIRMS $3.25 M INVESTMENT FOR CAPITAL PROJECT

(Sudbury, May 10th 2017) The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport will invest $3.25 M in the Place des Arts capital project. This contribution was included in the recent Ontario 2017 Budget, made public last April 27th, surprising the seven founding members1 who did not expect to see their capital project highlighted in the budget. “With this contribution, more than 30 % of the required funding is now confirmed. 4elements Living Arts welcomes proposals from emerging artists who would like to participate in this year’s Elemental Festival in Kagawong | Gaagigewang on Mnidoo Mnising |Manitoulin Island.
