CMRB Seeking Culture Groups

As CMRB is looking to launch the 150th celebrations at its 5th annual Heritage Festival on September 16-18th, we are inviting cultural groups to participate within the RIEL production on Saturday Sept 17th.  Please refer to the attached poster.  This involves (during a theatrical scene), an invitation for a short appearance with 2-10 individuals (all ages), dressed in cultural colors to be honored as ambassadors for their respective cultural group. A representative for the group would be required to attend a briefing session on Saturday morning (Sept 17th)  9-10 am at Whitewater Park to receive instructions. The ambassadors would be.

SPARC Symposium: NOMINATIONS FOR YOUTH PARTICIPANTS OPEN NOW

We are very pleased, once again, to announce support for youth attendance at the SPARC 2016 Symposium with generous financial support from Canadian Heritage and the Ontario Trillium Foundation. This funding will provide scholarships for 14 youth (between 16 and 29 years of age) from across Ontario – and Canada – to attend and participate in the SPARC 2016 Symposium being held in Haliburton, Thursday, October 27 to Sunday, October 30, 2016. The scholarships will cover the cost of travel, accommodation and meals. We need your help in selecting 14 motivated and enthusiastic youth involved in the performing arts in.

Sudbury Symphony Orchestra to Announce New Music Director

After an extensive international search, The Sudbury Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to be able to announce its New Musical Director. Join us on beautiful Manitoulin Island for our River School Programs this summer! River School is a dynamic program combining arts and science methods to discover the Kagawong River. There are a variety of ways to participate in River school, including half-day, full day and week-long programs throughout July and August for both kids and adults. River School participants in our kids program will get their hands dirty examining invertebrates with microscopes, testing water temperatures, planting trees and canoeing on the upper river while letting their creativity bloom with clay creations, boat building, and more!
